A reciter from Asyut in Upper Egypt who read with Shaykh Abd al-Majid ibn Muhammad Salim al-Asyuti, a student of Shaykh Hasan al-Karrak. Shaykh Muhammad ibn Ahmad ibn Husayn, known as al-Ghawi, read the seven readings with him. He is reported to have lived very long and died in the 1970s; Shaykh Siddiq al-Minshawi held him dear and Shaykh Amir Uthman accepted his ijazas.
