Shaykh Abd al-Aziz Ali Kuhayl was the chief teacher of the Qur'anic readings in Alexandria in his time. He read the ten readings with Muhammad Sabiq of Alexandria and also took from Abd Allah ibn Abd al-Azim al-Dasuqi. Muhammad Abd al-Rahman al-Khaliji of Alexandria was among his students.
