An Egyptian Hanafi jurist, grammarian and reader, born in 708 AH. He served as military judge and mufti of the Dar al-Adl and taught at the Mosque of Ibn Tulun. His works include al-Tadhkira on grammar and commentaries on Ibn Malik's Alfiyya and on al-Burda. Ibn al-Jazari read with him in Cairo; he died in Sha'ban 776 AH.
