Asim ibn Abi al-Najud was one of the Seven Readers and the master of Qur'an reading in Kufa. He took his reading from Abu Abd al-Rahman al-Sulami and Zirr ibn Hubaysh, and it was transmitted by Hafs ibn Sulayman and Shu'ba ibn Ayyash.
