Andalusian reciter of Valencia who read the seven readings with his stepfather Abu Dawud Sulayman ibn Najah and also studied hadith. He became the leading Qur'an teacher of his age, teaching in Valencia for over sixty years; al-Shatibi was among his students. He died in Rajab 564 AH in his nineties.
