Shaykh Hamid ibn Ali al-Sayyid al-Ghandur, a senior Qur'an teacher in the village of al-Sama'na in Sharqiyya, Egypt, son of Shaykh Ali al-Sayyid al-Ghandur, head of the Qur'an readers of Sharqiyya in his day. His student Abd al-Fattah al-Marsafi names him in the chain of his book Hidayat al-Qari.
