Zayd ibn Thabit al-Ansari was a Companion and one of the scribes of the revelation. Abu Bakr charged him with collecting the Qur'an, and under Uthman he led the copying of the standard mushafs. Ibn Abbas and Abu Abd al-Rahman al-Sulami read with him. He died in Medina.
