An Egyptian Qur'an reader from Tarut near Zagazig in Sharqia, born 1960. He completed the Qur'an as a boy with Shaykh Abd al-Maqsud (Abdu) al-Najjar and also studied with Mahmud Khalil al-Husari and Abd al-Fattah al-Qadi. He taught tajwid in Egypt and later Qur'anic sciences in Baghdad, where Muhammad al-Ta'i al-Baghdadi was among his students. He died after an illness in late 2011 or early 2012.
