Abu Abd Allah Muhammad al-Simati, known as al-Fakhkhar, was a Qur'an teacher of Fez in the 8th-9th century AH and a leading authority on the Warsh transmission. He read with Abu al-Abbas Ahmad b. Ali al-Zawawi, the chief reciter of the Maghrib, and taught Abu al-Abbas Ahmad al-Filali, Abu Zayd al-Jadiri and Abu Wakil Maymun. He was still alive in 803-804 AH; his exact death year is not recorded.
