ابي الحسن علين ابن سليمان الانصاري الغرطبي

650 – 730 AH / 1252/53 – 1329/30 CE No. 16 in the chain from the Prophet ﷺ المغرب

Biography

A Maliki reader of Cordoban origin who settled and died in Fez, where he was popularly known as Sidi Ali al-Qurtubi and titled shaykh al-jama'a. He took the readings from Abu Ja'far ibn al-Zubayr and others, lived past eighty, and wrote Tartib al-Ada' on combining the readings.
