Abu al-Mundhir Ubayy ibn Ka'b al-Ansari of Banu al-Najjar, a Companion, scribe of the revelation and one of the foremost Qur'an readers among the Companions. He took the Qur'an from the Prophet, and Abd Allah ibn Abbas among others read with him. He died in Medina.
