- the forms/shapes of the Arabic letters
- the sounds of the Arabic letters
- reading complete words and sentences in Arabic

Level Two:
In this level the student studies:
- Tajweed rules taught in a simplified way (Mushaf orthography)
and is able to read from the Holy Qur'an

Level Three:
- Explanation of Tajweed rules in an academic manner
