النويري

Muhibb al-Din Abu al-Qasim Muhammad al-Nuwayri was a Maliki jurist and reciter, born in 801 AH at al-Maymun in Upper Egypt and educated in Cairo. He met Ibn al-Jazari in Mecca in 828 AH, studied with him, and wrote a commentary on his Tayyibat al-Nashr during his lifetime, along with other works on the readings. He lived by trade, refused judgeships, travelled through Gaza, Jerusalem and Damascus, and died in Mecca in 857 AH.
