Shaykh Hasan ibn Muhammad Bayyumi, known as al-Karrak, was an Egyptian reciter from a village near Tahta in Sohag who memorised the Qur'an young. He received the ten readings from Muhammad ibn Sabiq, the leading authority of Alexandria, and then taught recitation in Asyut. Abd al-Majid ibn Muhammad Salim al-Asyuti was among his students.
