Sulayman ibn Husayn al-Jamzuri, known as al-Afandi, was a Shafi'i scholar from Jamzur near Tanta in Egypt, born in Rabi' al-Awwal around 1160 AH. He composed the tajwid poem Tuhfat al-Atfal, finished in 1198 AH, and wrote its commentary Fath al-Aqfal, as well as al-Fath al-Rahmani. The last date known for him is 1208 AH, when he completed al-Fath al-Rahmani.
