Bakri ibn Abd al-Majid al-Tarabishi was a Damascene Hanafi reciter and merchant, born in Damascus in 1338 AH. He read the seven readings by the Shatibiyya route with Muhammad Salim al-Halawani around 1360-1363 AH and was known for holding the highest chain in that route in his day. He taught hundreds of students, including Abd al-Hadi al-Tabba' and Ahmad al-Jabbasini, and died in Dubai in 1433 AH (2012).
