Abu Muhammad Ubayd ibn al-Sabbah al-Nahshali, a Kufan reciter who settled in Baghdad, known for precision and piety. He read the Qur'an with Hafs ibn Sulayman and was among his most exact students; Ahmad ibn Sahl al-Ushnani read with him and praised his devoutness. He died in 219 AH.
