Biographie

One of the most famous reciters of the 20th century with a distinctive school of melodic recitation, born in Mit Ghazal near Tanta in 1905 CE, who memorised the Qur'an between five and sixteen, studied at the Ahmadi institute in Tanta, read the seven with Muhammad Abu Hashish and continued at al-Azhar. He recited for King Faruq in Ramadan 1944 CE, was Friday reciter at al-Azhar mosque from 1945 CE until his death, and recorded the whole Qur'an in both styles؛ many, such as Fathi al-Maliji and Ahmad Nu'ayna', imitated him. He died in 1978 CE.
