Ali ibn Muhammad ibn Salih al-Hashimi (also named Ali ibn Muhammad ibn Ahmad ibn Salih), Abu al-Hasan of Basra, known as al-Jawkhani, was the blind Qur'an master of Basra. He read with Ahmad ibn Sahl al-Ushnani. Tahir ibn Ghalbun travelled to read with him, as did al-Karzini and al-Khuza'i. He died in 368 AH.
