Egyptian reciter born in Cairo who trained under the chief reciter Ahmad ibn Umar al-Isqati, then taught the seven readings for many years at al-Azhar (Riwaq al-Arwam) and became head of the reciters of Egypt. Ibrahim al-Ubaydi was among his students; he was the father of al-Sayyid Hasan al-Badri. He died in Jumada al-Ula in his nineties.
