An Egyptian reader who was the leading Qur'an teacher of Egypt in his time and the chief authority on Warsh's transmission. He read to Abu Ya'qub al-Azraq and was the last of his students to die, related hadith from Muhammad ibn Rumh, and Abu Adi Abd al-Aziz ibn Ali read to him. He died in Egypt on a Friday in Jumada al-Akhira 307 AH.
